As the city has not been all that open about how security will impact our daily routine during the upcoming G20 Summit,I’ll take this opportunity to pass along some info that CTV has distributed to it’s employees today. The CTV buildings are @ 299 Queen Street West and 260 Richmond Street West,both of which are closer in proximity to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre than District Lofts.
“The G20 Toronto Summit planning is underway. Toronto Police have made arrangements in the city concerning security. At this time CTV,299 Queen St. W. facility is in a traffic zone. Our area will not be impacted by enhanced security,nor will there be any security identification required. Registration with Toronto Police is not necessary. However,as a result of some road closures south of our buildings,there could be an increase of vehicular traffic on Richmond and Queen St. To assist with the movement of vehicles in this area,Toronto Police will have officers posted at major intersections to move traffic along. The areas directly around the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) will on the other hand be affected. In addition,all public transportation systems will be operating in the normal fashion. Some streets and PATH routes directly across from Union Station and the MTCC area may be restricted during this period. An update will be circulated when the closures have been identified.”
